The general captain of the black stars has admitted on Asempa FM in an interview with Papa Maestro that he felt betrayed by coach James Akwasi Appiah, when he took the captaincy from him, according to him he has never been left at peace since he was given the captain`s arm band, he wishes the new captain all the best and has a lot of belief in the new crop of players.
Asamoah Gyan has featured for the black stars since 2004, helping the black stars to the first ever World Cup finals in Germany 2006. He has the most goals at the World Cup as an African, scoring in all world cups he played in. Scoring in Germany, South Africa and Brazil.
He further confirmed that with the presidential intervention and other dignitaries advice, there are no issues again and will always respect coach James Akwasi Appiah and will be available anytime he is needed, he prays Ghana gives him a proper send off when he does retire, but for now he hasn’t retired yet though he is out club at the moment.
