It was another defeat for Real Madrid in the Audi Cup on Tuesday as they were beaten 1-0 by Tottenham in Munich.
Harry Kane scored the only goal of the game in the first half as Los Blancos continued to struggle to create opportunities to score.
Keylor Navas stopped this being another heavy defeat for Real Madrid, keeping Spurs at bay several times during the 90 minutes. First he saved from Raphael Varane’s clumsy error before keeping Erik Lamela, Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane out. What this match showed is that Thibaut Courtois isn’t as secure in the No.1 spot as he thinks he is.
Kane profited from Marcelo and Hazard`s horrendous error to give Tottenham the lead midway through the first half. The Brazilian left-back scrambled over to the touchline to try to keep the ball on the pitch and instead laid it perfectly into Kane’s path for the striker to slot past Keylor.
Zidane continues to experiment with his formation. He opted to start with a 4-4-2 system in this game with Hazard playing off Benzema up front. After an unconvincing start in the new shape, Real Madrid produced a much better display in the second half.
